Bring Your “A Game” ---Every day!

Engagement is Essential.

I posted a video of a high school championship basketball team, in tournament play. The team was the Pearl High Tigers of Nashville, Tennessee, Tennessee Hall of Fame sportsman Cornelius Ridley was their Coach. This was the school’s 5th State Basketball Championship win.

The coach’s Winning Strategy was based on quickness and efficiency….hands could move the ball toward the basket, more quickly than one player could move the ball down the floor.

The year was 1981, the technology was black and white reel to reel. Before Mp4, before, AVI, before VHS!

It was a 30-second, old-technology video and yet, it went viral. Within one week, the video had 3,000 views.

Why? It was a great basketball play, but it had a far-reaching impact. In 30 seconds, all 5 of the players in the White shirts and Checkerboard Shirts had touched the ball. That was an “A-Game.”

Each of us is assigned to do an important job…..we must come to work every day, ready to be in position, play our post, and create a championship win! To win, every employee must be engaged.
